Valkyrie Paragraph and Organize / Cath-up time

Posted by Tanya Larkin on 16 November, 2014 in Uncategorized |

November 20th – Valkyrie paragraph and organize yourself time.

A.) This morning we will take 15 minutes to look at our binders and ensure they are organized:
– Tabbed sections (Eng, SS, Math, AVID)
– All paper in binder, no loose sheets
– Now go through and see if you have all of the assignments and then put them in order.

B.) Next, take 30-40 minutes and write your Valkyrie Character Analysis Paragraph. I have your notes from the movie, turn these into a paragraph – see paragraph template:

  1. Topic sentence: Who is your character, from what movie, and what type of character is he? (All of this in your first sentence, make sure to capitalize).
  2. Three to five sentences that provide examples of what your character was like, this can be things he said, actions he did, how he looked etc. THREE sentences minimum, aim for FIVE!
  3. Maybe include in your second sentence a bit of information about the movie so your character type is more clear…. Ex. This character was set in WWII in Germany, an SS officer, who was a important part of Hitler’s own army, he worked with an elite group of traitors who were trying to plan an assassination.
  4. Make sure to have a concluding sentence, tie it all together, restate your main point.
  5. In total 5-8 sentences!!
  6. Type this out so there is a title, your name, the date and no spelling or grammar errors.
  7. Paragraph Outline and What makes a great paragraph

C.) Time for catch-up!
     – You just did a binder check, so all your work should be organized in your binder. Now go to the back wall in the classroom and make sure you have all the assignments you need. SEE THE TABLE OF CONTENTS FORMS (Eng/SS, Math, and AVID) hanging on the board.  These are the master lists.

     – Now, add one of these table of contents forms to the front of each of your tabbed sections in your binder (get this from your teacher). This way you now have a table of contents at the front of each section, you can add the daily assignments and never fall behind. If you miss a day then you can go to the back wall and use the master template to organize yourself!

    – Get some work done, catch-up!!! We are here to help you :)
